Rusty Roberts and Robert Zoellner have purchased stallions Service Stripe and Fast Play, both of whom will be relocated to Zoellner’s Rockin Z Ranch in Beggs, Oklahoma. Service Stripe and Fast Play each will stand for an advertised stud fee of $2,000 in 2010. An 18-year-old by Deputy Minister out of the stakes-winning Blushing Groom (Fr) mare Wedding Picture, Service Stripe is a half brother to graded stakes winner and sire Winged Victory and stakes winner and sire Where’s the Ring. A two-time stakes winner, Service Stripe won ten of 22 starts in four seasons. Service Stripe has sired 162 winners from 229 starters in ten crops of racing age. Notable runners include Grade 1 winner Cashier’s Dream, Grade 3 winner Field Commission, and 17-time stakes winner Secret Romeo.
Grade 1 winner Fast Play is a 23-year-old by Seattle Slew out of the winning Buckpasser mare Con Game. A half brother to multiple Grade 1 winner and leading sire Seeking the Gold, Fast Play has sired 240 winners from 325 starters in 16 crops of racing age, including English and Irish highweight Lucayan Prince among five group or graded stakes winners.
